SALT Ministries Programs and Goals for 2005: (Updated: March 2005)

II. Assembling Believers

Strengthen the existing churches in Chiangmai, Chiangrai, and Nan provinces. They are the Dawn of Life Christian Church in Chiangmai City, Maeangkhang Mai Church of Christ in Chiangmai province, Meakachan Church of Christ in Chiangrai province, Baan Haen in Nan province.
Open more preaching points. Presently, there are two preaching points: Maewan in Chiangmai province and Baan Nam Hao in Nan province. Establish one church every year.

III. Literature Production

Continue to write and translate lesson & sermon materials according to the New Testament to be used in the churches, Bible studies, and short term Bible schools.
Publish the lesson and sermon materials we have already written and translated.

IV. Training Leaders
1. Continue to train the leaders whom we have already trained through short term Bible school.
2. Hold seminar to inform them of the current changes in the area of evangelism, church planting, social and political issues.
3. Send promising students to Lanna Christian College. Presently, we are sponsoring two Thai students at Lanna Christian College: Mr. Worawut Wacharadechakul (first year), and Miss Banthita Wiangkham (graduating).
4. Trained leaders and graduating ones will join our team in training the youth and children. They will also be involved in the different ministries of the church.

V. Children’s Home

We have 19 students (10 in elementary grades & nine in high school) at Roong Aroon Children’s Home. At the Home they have regular Bible study, daily devotions, singing & prayer time, and general assembly for worship time once a week. Through this witness 14 children have received Jesus and have been baptized. We also produce leaders out of these children. They are involved in church work as singers, instrumentalists, worship leaders, & youth leaders. They also help clean the church auditorium, cook, and washes dishes.

S,A.L.T. Ministries pays for their tuition fees, books, uniform, food & shelter. Some guardians help financially, but those who can not afford monetarily give in kind like rice, corn, vegetables, and fruits from their field.

S.A.L.T. plans to expand the Home by accepting more children each year if funds increase. Nearly 20 children has been a good starting amount for 2 years since we have been able to give each child close attention. Hopefully, as the Home grows we will be able to give Jesus’ love to more children.

S.A.L.T. Ministries is looking for sponsors, so that they can continue their schooling through college or university. Some of them will become preachers, church workers, teachers, engineers, and other profession or vocation. When they attain their educational aspiration they will become church leaders and government officials. They will also become good givers because they will have regular jobs and salaries.

VI. Day Care Center

This ministry is also a very effective tool to communicate the Gospel to the parents of the kids. So, we will continue to operate the day care center, improve the teaching methods, and build the facility conducive to the children’s need.

VII. Land for S.A.L.T. Ministries, Inc.

As the work expands, a need for a property becomes a high priority. The property will house the

a. Office of S.A.L.T. Ministries, which is now a foundation registered with the Ministry of Culture of the Thai government.

b. Dawn of Life Christian Church. The church congregates in a rented one-story makeshift facility with no space for expansion nor enough room to hold other activities.

c. Children’s Home. Likewise, the Children’s Home functions in a rented two=story houses in a 2,400 square feet property. It floods during the rainy season. Aside from this, the landowner has already sold the land. We have only until June to move out.
Before we left for the U.S., we talked with the owner of a half an acre property only about 2 miles from the city proper and 50 meters from a main highway. It costs $67,000. Please pray for God’s direction. If it is His will, He will raise

a. 67 churches and individuals to give $1,000

b. or 134 churches who will give $500 each

c. Or 282 individuals who will give $120 for the first year and another $120 for the second year. (Each individual can save $10 a month for two years).
