National Convention of the Christian
Churches/
Churches of Christ in Thailand (C.O.C.)
In 1998, Virgilio and David L. Filbeck, missionary
to Thailand, had a vision to start the first national convention for the Christian
Churches and Churches of Christ in Thailand. In October 2001, the 1st convention
took place in Chiangmai. The 2nd convention happened in October 2002 with Virgilio
serving as president, and the 3rd in October 2004 with an average of 500 attendees
each time. Through this convention, the churches, Thai Christians, and several
missionary families have grown closer together in fellowshipping and serving. The
convention also helped the Thai Christians to know about their religious
identity. That is, they belong to non-denominational Churches of Christ/ Christian
Churches.
