Language
Thai language has 44 consonants and more than 22 vowels. It has five tones:
high, rising, middle, low and falling. Different combinations of consonants
and vowels will produce different meanings and sounds.

Culture, customs, and traditions
In Thailand, the most sacred part of the body is the head, while the foot is
the least sacred part. So it is prohibited and offending to point one's toes
toward the head. Crisscrossing the leg while sitting down is avoided. Respect
for elders is important and observed daily.
